I am very pleased with the professionalism I received from this clinic! Long story short my golden retriever had a bowel obstruction and was acting lethargic, vomiting, loss of appetite overnight. I took him over to South Buffalo Springs Animal Hospital the very next day. Dr. McCollum was great, he answered all my questions, gave us an estimate of possible charges. We started with the X-ray and he recommended J Jae be hospitalized and on IVs. X Ray results were back and there was some plication of the stomach/intestines. Next step was to rule out obstruction either by doing an ultrasound, barium study, or undergo exploratory surgery. We elected the exploratory surgery and thank goodness we did!
Dr. McCollum was great, kept me updated throughout J Jae's treatment everyday. J Jae didn't get his surgery until about 7:30pm and I got a call around 11pm once it was completed and he was coming out of the anesthesia. We were allowed to visit him the following morning and anytime during opening hours. Dr. McCollum took the time out of his work day to talk to us personally on J Jae's progress when we visited. Thanks to the caring staff at South Buffalo Hills my baby was discharged within 3 days. I was given a follow up call about a week after surgery and my concerns were taken down and given to the doctor, to my surprise Dr. McCollum called me personally within the hour!
