Our group of 16 ended up staying at the Planet Hollywood hotel on a recent visit to vegas because a friend was able to get use a huge discount on the rooms there. The location of the hotel is conveniently located near the Crystals shopping center, across from Bellagio, near Paris, and some of the other good spots at the south end of the strip. We checked in late on a Thursday night and stood in line for over 40 minutes and it was an hour before we were finally made it up to our room.
The front desk employees were really slow and midway while helping check guests in, would go into the back for 5-10minutes and then mysteriously reappear. We watched this go on for the 40 minutes. Once we finally made it up to the counter, it took them 20 minutes to find our reservation (even though I had our confirmation code) and get us all checked in. I've never had such a rough experience checking into a hotel before! It's usually quite brisk and pleasant.
The rooms themselves were fine, we really had no complaints considering the heavily discounted rate our friend was able to secure for us. The casino, lounges, and restaurants are nothing to write home about.
Bottom line, in all honesty, I wouldn't stay at PH again - we really only stayed here since we got such a great deal but spent most of our time at other hotels and casinos.
