Why I'm glad we choose Lakeside events for my wedding venue this May. They did an exceptional job. From the time we booked the venue up until the day of the wedding they were very accommodating. It did take a few extra phone calls to set the date and make certain arrangements. The staff for the most part responded back in a timely manner and answered whatever questions came up to plan the perfect day. The prices were very reasonable for the different packages they offered. I liked how the venue offered an all inclusive package. I didn't have to find outside vendors for anything. They did, however, allow me to bring in my own decor/centerpieces to make my wedding my own. I could not be more happy with how my vision turned out. Wynndy was our Event Coordinator and I can't say enough great things about her. Because of her, everything that day ran smoothly. We used the flower shop next to the venue. Felicia and Kat were wonderful in helping me pick out my flowers to match the look I was going for. They added in all my extras I brought to them. Our Minister Jason did a nice job incorporating our children into our ceremony, it added that personal touch. Our photographer Courtney was very pleasant and easy to work with. She took all the group shoots and personalized photos I had requested. I can't wait to see how the photos themselves turned out. Jen was our DJ and she did great getting everyone on the dance floor. She played all our requested songs and then a good variety of others. The food was pretty good. The choices were a pretty basic buffet menu. The cake was tasty from what I heard from our guests. I really only tried a little bit of cake/frosting during the cake cutting myself. Our bartender Stacy was so friendly and cheerful during the reception. We had lots of fun chatting with her up at the bar.
I wish however someone would have dimmed the lights during our first dance. It was very bright in the room. Also when we were taking some of our pictures as it got darker there were a lot of gnats storming around outside by the gazebo, luckily it was fine during the ceremony. I guess that's to be expected when you are by the water? And now that it is over I wish I would have paid the extra money to have a videographer, just something to consider if you're planning your wedding.
All in all it was a beautiful day and I really enjoyed having my wedding here.
