In all honesty, I was concerned & not at all happy when The Avenue was bought out. I know Food Fight and I really like their restaurants overall, but I had no idea how things would change and if that change would be welcome. Well...... No worries, because it's all good! I met a friend for brunch a couple weeks ago and we had a lovely experience. There was a Packer game on so clearly the place was mobbed, but our server was warm and fun and attentive. The Bucky Bloody Mary was excellent - flavorful with the right balance of heat and a super yummy cheese/sausage skewer. I got the cheese burger with a fried egg and my friend got the lobster benedict. The burger was a good, run of the mill burger and the fries were crispy happiness. But the star of the show was my friend's lobster benedict. OMG, it was magical! I'm absolutely ordering it the next time I'm there. She gave me a taste and it was so good I actually told her to shut up. Food envy! The hollandaise was ridiculously perfect with huge chunks of lobster and cheesy hash browns. Plus it went beautifully with my Bucky Bloody. So yeah, great food, fun atmosphere, good service... Trifecta of awesome! Yes, there are some changes, but none of them unwelcome. Good job, Food Fight! The Avenue is still worthy!!!
