Are you looking for a clean, modern hotel with friendly and caring staff? Do you want to stay in a hotel where you feel good about your stay and know you got more than full value for the price you paid upon checking out of the hotel? If yes, look no further than Wingate by Wyndham in Airdrie. I have stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions and was impressed with each visit. The hotel opened in May, 2016. The look and feel of the interior decor lends to the feeling this hotel will seem to be "new" for many years to come. I've only stayed in the King Bed rooms. The rooms are adequate size with a bed, desk, chair, and dresser for the main furniture. The bathroom has lots of space. The beds are comfortable and the pillows are great. Each morning an excellent continental breakfast (included in the room rate) is served with many options, including waffles and other hot foods. The hotel location is prime. A 15-18 minute drive from the Calgary International Airport and close to the Queen Elizabeth II highway with easy access. There is no road noise from the QE II in the hotel. The amenities in the immediate surrounding area are top notch. Grocery shopping, clothes, shopping, restaurants, etc are all within one or two blocks from the hotel. And only a mile or two away, is the "Best Baked Lasagna in Southern Alberta" at Athena's Grill. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. If I was a visitor to the area and doing day trips to different southern Alberta tourist attractions (Banff, Lake Louise, Drumheller, etc) I would make this hotel my base. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The Guest Services Manager (is her name Rhonda?) is professional, experienced, and hard working (I think she works 24 hours a day). She will do anything possible to make guests feel at home. Other hotels in the area will have to take notice of what Wingate by Wyndham Airdrie is offering for the price.
