I struggled with a star rating for Girasole. Overall, I'm a definite fan of the restaurant and will be back for sure. Here's a couplepointers for people though if you're considering going. 1) Call a day or two ahead and plan on going to dinner a little on the early side 6/6:30 if you want to not wait a while. The place doesn't take reservations, so you need to get your name on their list for any given night as soon as possible. 2) They maximized their use of their small space. There really didn't feel like a whole lot of breathing room between many of the tables, so if you're going in winter, layer up and maybe not wear your bulkiest winter coat. Ok, now for why you're actually reading this review, the food and environment. Yeah, Girasole was a little loud, but for the space they have (and i'm sure they have more tables out outside in the summer), it's a tucked away gem. It's quaint and cozy for all its crampedness and I give the waitress my girlfriend and i had a pass because of the busyness. We were there for our anniversary dinner. We both got the the soup of the day, the Chicken Pastina soup, which was simple but very comforting and warmed our bones on the cold night. She got the Pumpkin Ravioli, which drew rave reviews from both of us (go with the brown butter sauce) and is a delectable dish my brain is still trying to comprehend. I got the Linguine Rustic, which was quite good but missed a little final "kick" of flavor (i didn't notice the garlic in the dish that much and there seemed to be a bit too much oil on the bottom, like the chef had plated up just a smidge too much of the sauce) which i remedied by adding a little pepper. It wasn't overly salty, like another review on here has mentioned, but it just didn't have that final "wow", and was more of a "that was a solid pasta dish...i'd get that again" dish. Overall 4 out of 5 stars. It's worth checking out and I'll for sure go back.
