Jim Chai Kee is everything a good wonton noodle place should be, quick, affordable, delicious, and absolutely no frills. Highly highly recommended! :) But be warned, this place is by no means one for the fine dining experience. There are about 10 tables, and the turnover is ridiculously fast. In and out in under 20 mins (maybe 15 if you can eat really fast!). A great spot if you want to grab a quick lunch, but not if you're looking to stay and chat. And don't expect service other than for the waiter to take your order and hand you a bill. Even tea and water is in a self serve carafe at the back of the restaurant. To add to ordering efficiency, the menu is as uncomplicated as it gets, with only a few options. I always end up ordering the same thing, and literally within a minute of ordering, the food starts arriving. The portions don't seem like it would satisfy when it first arrives, but underneath those four giant shrimp wontons is a generous serving of perfectly cooked noodles. The broth is clean, and everything is just the way a bowl of wonton noodles should be. You've never had shrimp wontons until you've had them here. They are jam packed with whole shrimps, none of that ground up paste of mystery seafood. Definitely stop by for a try if you're in the Richmond Hill area!
