First off I almost never write reviews but I have lived in this complex for almost two years and feel like my experience could help someone decide if they wanted to move into this complex. I will note that I am currently experiencing an issue and pending the outcome my 3 star review may stay the same or go down but i will add updated comments at that time. I moved into my apartment in 12/2013 right after the complex switched management companies from Camden to Greystar, I found that it was a bit of a rocky transition but nothing that I couldn't forgive with the exception of issues with their online payment portal. Initially when i moved in I was told that this was the only option for paying my monthly rent and the first two months when I paid it on the 1st (due date and as a variable water and trash bill had to be paid in addition to rent but wasnt added to their portal until the 1st) well before any reasonable processing time cut offs they did not process the transaction until the 2nd causing rent to be "late". I was able to get this issue resolved pretty painlessly however they did not update their systems to show it was their error so I still had 2 black marks on my file. Since this Greystar error I have always paid on time and had zero issues until this past month which I will go into further detail later. Overall I would say the value is pretty poor for these apartments, although initially great when I was presented with my most recent lease renewal the base rent had increased over 35% in two years. My unit is not upgraded, has old cheap low end appliances, and although adequate enough for a single father and his daughter it is in no way worth over $1000 a month. This complex definitely is way overpriced and there are tons of better places with much better interiors/exteriors and options for less. For value I'd give 2 stars The complex is in a great location and close to just about anything you could want and is a very quiet which is a plus. The grounds are okay, the landscaping, which can be nice but the upkeep can be sporadic and far too many pet owners don't pick up after their furry friends, this really isn't the complex's fault but they could do a much better job cracking down on offenders. The only acknowledgment of it was a mention in the monthly newsletter asking people to pick up after their pets, unfortunately they deliver their monthly newsletter sometimes two or three weeks into the month so by the time you get it its pretty much worthless and most people probably just throw it away as most the the events it mentions have already come and gone. I would give the grounds 2 stars the location 4. The maintenance staff is great here they are very friendly and the four times I've needed them (once for the hot water heater going out and three times for a nonworking AC) they were prompt and got the job done quick. As i mentioned earlier I moved in during the management transition like others said their were issues with my unit at move in and should have been done well before I got the keys, I filled out a maintenance request and it was never filled. Although many of the items were eyesores nothing was functionally wrong with the unit, I'm easy going and notated all the issues on my move in check list so I was not too worried about it. This isnt indicative of the maintenance staff more of poor management, I would rate the maintenance staff five stars. The office staff is okay here, I have such low expectations for apartment office staff so I guess okay is a compliment but for what you pay in rent here it is not acceptable. I am very easy going and rarely have had to deal with them but when I have the service has been lacking. They have held packages in the office without notifying me they had them, on one occasion for almost 3 months. Getting good customer service from them is miss more than hit and they can be unsympathetic and accusatory when bringing up issues.
