Go! As soon as you can! This is the place to go if you want to see "The World's Slowest Scanner".* Seriously. This is a standard Shoppers Drug Mart, except for the ancient looking, ambiguously gendered check-out person. I was in here last week with a friend and we watched in amazement at the snail-like pace with which this person performed his/her** job. I cannot conceive how a person can take so much time to lift an item off the belt and place it within reach of the scanner to register the cost, and then put it back down a few inches away! It was really impressive. Go now. Before this event becomes impossible to see either because this person retires, or people find out and this becomes a "Top 10 things to do in Toronto on the cheap" in the next edition of Toronto Life. So, next time you are near Yonge and Bloor and need a few items, go to Shoppers and watch, no, experience, the show! THIS is what I call performance art! *Not trademarked or copyrighted. I made that up **Seriously. I can't tell. Another reason for you to go and weigh in with your opinion.
