I was about to start the battle for parking at the King's Drive Framer's Market, when suddenly, I remembered the Mecklenburg County Market. I used to go there years ago when we lived in Dilworth.
I was able to find ample parking and didn't have to elbow people to get to the tomatoes. The market offers not only gorgeous produce and free range eggs, but prepared vegan/vegetarian food, soaps and baked goods. And, you remember the old song, "The Farmer In The Dell?" Well, there is actually a farmer here whose name is Dale!
I purchased corn, okra, beautiful heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, eggs, peaches, a spaghetti squash, and summer squash at prices that didn't break the bank. Needless to say, I have been putting together the most sumptuous meals this week.
I will be back to get my fix of fresh, fabulous food.
