I am extremely disappointed with the quality of jewelry here. I am also very displeased with the service I receive there. My husband purchased my engagement ring at a Kay jewelers in California, however we live in Arizona so all servicing is done at this location. The other day, I looked down to see that my prong setting was bent all to heck. How this occurred is beyond me, I work at a desk, I don't do physical labor or anything that would cause something like this to happen. Anyhow, I took it back to Kay Jewelers after my insurance company recommended I start there, as they felt it was probably a craftsmanship issue. I dropped the ring off, it took two weeks for them to call me back and tell me they could not repair the ring but would give me the same amount we originally paid for it, to find a replacement ring. This was an in store credit, otherwise I would have taken the money and gone somewhere else after the service I dealt with when I got there. The guy helping us wanted to do nothing more than sell us something more expensive. We found a ring in the catalog and asked to see that ring, this guy, who was already trying to sell us more expensive rings, brought us a ring and after we settled on that ring, which was less expensive than my original one, he rang it up and asked for more money. I said, "I don't understand." He then proceeds to tell us that he grabbed the wrong ring, not the one in the catalog that we asked for, it looked extremely similar so we didn't realize that it was much more expensive (but I know he already knew that!). Anyhow, after that someone else began helping us, I guess when we told him we were going to keep looking he wasn't happy. The next lady would look at the price of the ring before she would let me see it and she must have said a hundred times, "Oh that's too cheap, you need to find one more expensive." And I said, "If I want to take a hit on the cost and I see a ringer that I like but it's cheaper, than I will take the hit, just let me see the ring please." It was just awful. Anyhow, we finally made it through that process, the ring had to be sized and because of it being Christmas time I had to wait a month or so to get it back. Once I got the ring, within the first week and diamond was missing. Took it back waited another few weeks, they blamed it on getting loose because they sized the ring,,whatever, anyhow, I got it back less than 48 hours ago and it's missing a diamond again! I'm livid, this is awful craftsmanship and quality. I just want my money back so I can go to a quality jewelry store, where I'm not worried about a diamond falling out every other day because maybe I type to hard on the damn keyboard!
