I went to Prime (re-named the Living Room) a few nights ago, with a friend who talked me into due to the Groupon Deal.
I am not really into this sort of restaurant...if I am going to go for a pricey meal downtown, it is much more likely to be younger, trendier spot. Not that i do that often...umm...ever...but I want to!
However, I enjoyed it. I had the Kale Salad and loved it. I have never had Kale in a salad before but it was really nice. For main, my friend and I shared the Arctic Char and the Steak. I am not a steak eater and have little to compare to (I was veggie for 15 years, and have never ever actually had a steak for myself, though I haver had a taste of it here and there)...but it seemed good to me. It was tender, easy to chew, and had a nice flavor. My ffriend, who is more of a steak eater than I am, said it was good. We ordered it medium rare, which is appeared to be.
The fish (I am an avid fish eater) was also very nice, it was not over or undercooked, flaked easily, and was in a lovely saffron sauce. I practically licked the plate. The mussel underneath was a tasty treat!
The dinner was preceded by bread and 3 dips...Hummus, roasted red pepper, and olive. All were delicious. I ate little of the bread but enjoyed spooning the dips (gasp!)
The service was a bit slow, but the servers were friendly and polite and there were no issues.
The washroom was up and elevator, and reeked of perfume which made me feel light headed.
I would be unlikely to return to this restaurant on my own dime, with or without a deal..however easting there once was a nice treat and if someone offered to take me there again...I wouldn't turn them down!
