I don't find myself if sporting goods stores very often, but I have to say that I'm very impressed with Sporting Life on Yonge.
Staff were uniformly friendly, proactive and almost ridiculously helpful. I had a question that an associate couldn't answer, so he immediately tracked down a manager who could. While in the change room area I shared some feedback with the attendant and less than five minutes later when in line for the cashier I was approached by another very-friendly manager who thanked me for my input and offered me a discount on my purchase. Wowsers!
I can't vouch for all Sporting Life locations, but clearly they're doing something right at the Yonge location. The sort of enthusiasm that the staff demonstrated indicates a management with clear vision of what customers want and how to motivate their team.
