Craving ice cream, stumbled upon Handel's. Parked in the back and were totally surprised when we walked around to the front and saw the line of people. Wow! Apparently this is a popular place. We had a hard time being able to see the menu until we got up close and were ready to order. The signs need to be updated in order to be read more easily from the line. It is also a somewhat confusing menu. I decided last minute to order a chocolate covered strawberry hurricane, I wish I had known it was made with soft serve before I ordered, but that's what happens when you order in a rush from not being able to examine the menu! We also got a double scoop cone with mint chocolate chip and chocolate brownie ice cream. My husband said he liked his cone a lot, the ice cream was good. I could take or leave the hurricane personally. It had strawberry flavoring which tasted very artificial. I assumed that they would use a fresh strawberry puree or berries since they advertise using this type of ingredients in their ice cream. There was nothing wrong with it, I just would never order that again. If we do return I will try a hard ice cream and re-evaluate. The place is also pricey. It cost us $12 for 2 items! No military discount here.
