Yum cha! Happy Chinese new years guys! What is new years? It's feasting with your family and friends. This is why our group of hungry adults decided to eat here Saturday morning. Come early to avoid the crowds, we were seated at 11am with less than a 5 min wait. Dim sum is ordering a bunch of Chinese appetizers that are typically steamed and fried and you drink lots of tea. They had chrysanthemum tea and kept our teapot full. The standouts were the turnip cake made fresh on the side & pork dumplings. The staples that we ordered are: Har gow- shrimp dumpling! (my fave) tseung fun- long shrimp rice sheet with soy sauce. Luo bo gao-turnip cake! ham tsui gok- pork dumpling. lo mai gai- sticky rice Cha siu bao- BBQ bun If anything just wave down a waiter and point to the food you like. Usually the people pushing carts should ask you what you want to order and should "sell" the dim sum to you like at a night market. It's very noisy but fun. However, here one of the cart ladies ignored us and skipped our table. To me it's still an interesting set-up that this dim sum place is just part of the Mekong food court but the food is not bad, so I'll take it.
