Stopped in the other night to ask prices and ask if they do women's haircuts. Was told $16 for a senior and that yes they do women's haircuts. I went tonight with a bit of trepidation but thought I was just being worried fo nothing. I should have listened to my gut. I got a pleasant young woman who looked at the pictures I brought and said she could do that. She then thinned my hair on one side and thinned it more and more, till there was no volume and it was flat to my head. There is a big step cut out of my hair on that side and it is not blended and you can see my scalp, I said I did not want it to be vert short. I finally told her to thin the other side as one side was round and one side was flat. She said once I styled it with a round brush it would be fine. She said it would look better after the shampoo and blow dry.
When I first sat down she said since I was a first time client I would get a shampoo, massage and hot towels and a discount. But she didn't mention the price. While I was getting my hair washed she said it was going to be $19. I told her I was quoted $16. She said that was a senior price. I told her I am a senior, but by then she had shampooed my hair so said it was going to be $19.
Back to the styling chair when I was trying to point out how flat it was on one side and she kept thinning on that side. She remained pleasant all the time and I think was trying her best but my hair looks terrible. The only thing I can do now is go back and make them thin the other side down to the scalp so it's even. On top of all that, I did not get the massage and I didn't want the hot towels on my face and I did not get a senior discount. When I got home I washed my hair hoping that when I styled it myself with the round brush it would round out like she said. But it didn't. I can't do anything with it and it looks terrible.
Never, never, never again will I go to one of those places.
