My first visit to The Rose and Crown was quite enjoyable. I went on a Friday evening and there was a decent crowd, but wasn't packed. The layout of the place is a bit different...being an old house and all...but it worked.
Like most people said, parking could be annoying so we opted for the light rail. It was a little bit of a walk over, but would have been pleasant if it wasn't a miserable 115 degrees out. We got a table inside and had excellent service for the couple of hours we stayed. Our server was attentive and kept the drinks coming. Their bar list is pretty decent, but the menu could have provided a few more options (I know, I know...it's a British pub). I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich (without the bacon) and it was pretty tasty. I especially loved their wedge-cut fries seasoned with sea salt. Delicious.
Overall, I definitely liked the place for a casual night out. We will be heading back to The Rose and Crown again soon. Hopefully the weather will be cooler and we can hang outside and listen to some of their live music.
