I am not at all skilled in the art of doing my own hair, and as a result, I've more or less had slight variations of the same simple hairstyle my entire adult life. Since I never go for an all out "style" when I get my hair cut, it seems ludicrous to spend lots of money on it. Enter Brillare Hairdressing Academy! For $12 (yes, that's right, $12!) you get a shampoo, cut, and blow dry/style. This is a screaming deal, folks. Afraid to place yourself in the hands of a student stylist? Don't worry. An instructor has to sign off after a brief consultation with you and the student before any cutting is done, and they also come by after the cut to make sure you're happy and to critique the student's work. I've never had a negative experience here, but I also stick to really basic cuts. I feel like perhaps if you venture into coloring and more complex salon techniques, it could become more of a grey area depending on the skill level of your stylist. Nevertheless, I've enjoyed my numerous haircuts from Brillare, and enjoyed their light impact on my wallet even more.
