The service simply couldn't get any worse. My wife and I decided to stop at Murphy's for lunch on Sunday. When we arrived the place was about 1/2 full inside and maybe 2 tables on the patio (so busy but not crazy). Right away there was no hostess to greet us at the door, bad sign but not a huge deal and eventually a waitress just told us to seat ourselves. So we sat down and waited... and waited... and waited. After about 15 minutes I noticed two ladies at another table looking around and eventually one had to get up and walk over to the bar to get menus. After about 20 minutes I was pretty much ready to just leave. No one had been to any of the tables near us (Murphy's isn't that big a place) and we didn't even have a menu let alone drinks or food. I finally managed to wave down a waiter and ask him who was responsible for our table, or the table beside us, or the table with the two ladies? His response was "the blond" but she was nowhere to be seen and my wife and I still didn't have menus so I asked him to serve us. He said he was terribly busy but he would try and when I mentioned the 20 minutes he actually became very rude and basically told me I shouldn't complain as it doesn't make him serve me any faster. At that point I was done, I told him we where leaving and in a very sarcastic tone he told me "Have a nice day sir". As I was leaving I asked a waitress to speak to a manger. She said "you can speak to the bar tender?" I asked if the bartender was a manager and she replied "well err no, but you can speak with the hostess" (the one who is nowhere to be found) and I asked is the hostess a manager? She replied "well no but she can get you sorted" and then she just walked off and the hostess is still nowhere to be found. So no manager on site, no hostess, and a clear lack of servers. It is a terrible shame that the ownership group has totally understaffed this pub. It has a great patio and used to be one of my favorite spots (10 years ago it was a fantastic pub). Today you are better off going just about anywhere else. Don't take my word for it, just look at the recent reviews on any site. I learned today that they all say the say thing, the service is awful.
