My stay at the Hyatt was a bit of a mixed bag.
The good:
Very good service at the front desk and concierge. Every morning before heading to the convention center, someone made sure I was taken cared of. If I need directions or a restaurant recommendation, they were informative and very friendly.
The hotel was in a great location. Access to the street car was right out the door, allowing for easy transit to different locations throughout the city. Since it was my first time to Toronto, this was helpful in getting me where I wanted to go. If I didn't want to take public transit, many of the major sights were within walking distance of the hotel. Awesome.
The bad:
Elevators! What is it with me and elevators? This seems to always happen to me. Only 2 elevators were functioning, and with most conference attendees staying at the same hotel, that meant LONG elevator waits. And riding the elevators were hardly pleasant with it shaking and rattling most of the time.
The hotels were clean, but didn't have much. I guess I'm just used to at least a safe, refrigerator or a DVD player. It also bugged me that I kept the "Privacy' card in my door every day, only to return to my room to have it cleaned and serviced. What was the point of the "privacy" card? It bugged me.
I may come back for it's location, but will probably look into other hotels before making my decision.
