So, after stamping my feet to be seen, I took the squeaky jeep in yesterday. They assiged me to a "service adviser" which makes it look like you are getting special treatment. He was on his office phone half the time, and when we did talk, he was distracted.
I calmly explained our squeaky brake problem since we purchased from them and told him we've asked about the noise EVERY time we took it in for service, to be told "the brakes are fine".. He then told me they had ZERO record of us asking about the brakes. And told me the brakes aren't covered under warranty, and it would cost $100 for them to "diagnose" a problem. How did they "diagnose" in the past that our brakes "were fine"? So, after I was able to get out of the chaotic parking lot, I took the Jeep to Brake Masters (a block away) for a free diagnosis and true customer service, where they found only 5% left on the back brakes, which was the cause of the overheated squealing and squeaking when we used our brakes.
Even if you're vehicle is under warranty, I would highly recommend getting a second opinion after seeing their service department for problems. I'm so glad I went elsewhere, because I'm driving my family through the mountains this weekend-Brake Masters might have saved us from an accident!
