Had some good experiences for minor things like inoculations and worm tests here then one horrible when things really mattered so will never go there again. Dr Howard charged us over $450 to x-ray our two year old dog's hips then diagnosed him with dysplasia and arthritis and suggested we neuter (our show dog) while he did surgery on his hips and wanted us to start him on meds for the arthritis. We then went to Vet in Newport Beach California on a recommendation and for only $150 they took x-rays and unlike Dr Howard were able to get good x-rays without anesthesia. Those x-rays were sent to OFA and the dog came back with GOOD Hips and NO he did NOT have arthritis. The Newport Vet pointed out the flaws in Dr Howards x-rays so we took this information to Dr Howard, just as a teaching tool, we were nice were not asking for a refund etc.. but he still got defensive and angry insisting there was nothing wrong with his x-rays!! When clearly they were fuzzy and the placement was wrong.. I mean you can't deny they were bad pictures but he did. No apology for the bad diagnosis. Wow we missed a bullet for sure. Buyer Beware. Do not accept a diagnosis that is going to cost you and your pup without a second opinion and watch out for the up selling they will try to get you to buy special feed and other things you do not need.
