I am new to Hy-Vee, as I didn't grow up here. But one opened up by my apartment recently, so I decided to give it a try. The store is very clean and very big. Staff are generally helpful. There is a great restaurant actually inside the store. The wine and spirits section also has a large selection, oftentimes with good sales. I've had mixed experiences with the bakery...sometimes I've gotten cookies that aren't even cooked all the way through, other times my bread has been very very well done. Some items are often out of stock for long periods at a time (still waiting for that Worcestershire Sauce to come back in stock). Make sure you sign up for the fuel saver card...it's a good deal to get cents off gas from PDQ.
