Dr. Seltzer and her team are amazing! I had some pretty severe pain in a large tooth towards the back of my mouth. It's the day after the root canal and I still have not taken any of the medication prescribed for pain because I have none and can't really tell that there is any swelling. i would say that's a great job in itself! My tooth needed a lot of work. It had four roots that were quite long and bendy. I could tell I was in good hands because she constantly was checking and rechecking. She continued with me for quite a while, but I'm glad she did. She explained what she was doing as she was doing it and asking if I was ok throughout. I felt nothing throughout the whole thing. I was there for a 10am appointment and was out of there by about 11:30am. I had no pain (still don't) and just a frozen part of the area worked on and went right back to the office and continued with my day. My colleagues were amazed that I was back at the office. A couple of conference call participants had to deal with my frozen mouth speak for a bit, but otherwise I had a normal afternoon and went to see a movie in the evening. Exactly what I hoped it would be. I even got a follow up call from her to see how I was doing. I'm not going to say a root canal is enjoyable, but I can't think of this whole process going any better than it did. Both Dr. Seltzer and her assistant were great to deal with. I had not been a previous patient of hers and didn't know of her until I was scheduled in to see her on very short notice (the person at the front was very pleasant to deal with - also the person who I saw at the end who processed my payment but I don't recall their names). I also should note that they could have just done a consultation and had me schedule another appointment after the X-rays since I was a last minute addition in to her busy day, but I was glad she was able to handle this immediately on my go ahead. For the amount of discomfort I was in, I was more than happy to get this over with. One last thing - she took the time to come out to speak with me after I was done to give me some recommendations on general dentists to see for the crown as I had asked her assistant for options because I no longer had a dentist in the city. She could have just sent her assistant back out to discuss, but she took the time to chat with me about it, which I appreciated. i'm confident the dentist she has referred me to will work out well. I would highly recommend Dr. Seltzer!
