I don't know what the story is with Nitti L. and Karen F. I'm actually surprised to see anything less than a 5 star rating for this veterinary clinic. Seriously. When I was a kid we took our three collies to Dr. Ingram and he was nothing less than exceptional. I haven't met a smarter veterinarian (nor one as charismatic and entertaining!). Two years ago my brother found an abused Pitbull on the street in downtown Phoenix and we took him under our wing. For a while I went to my brother's veterinarian since the dog was already registered there (Arrowhead Ranch Animal Hospital) and I constantly left feeling pissed off. They were always trying to sell me on very expensive treatments and I never felt like the vet techs were friendly or even cared, honestly. Recently, my dog's snout swelled up. It was gigantic. I thought he had gotten bitten by a nasty bug or stung by a scorpion. I took him to Arrowhead Ranch and they weren't sure what was going on. They said it could have been due to his two broken canines (broken clear in half... a testament to his quality of life before we nabbed him). But... they said they would need to do a deep scale cleaning & x-rays to be sure there was actually an infection. They wouldn't just prescribe an antibiotic for him because they "needed to be sure there was an infection and the only way to know is by doing x-rays of the mouth". The dental package they were trying to push on me was $500! Are you kidding? Frustrated and tired of Arrowhead Ranch always trying to sell me on expensive shit I didn't need... I took my pooch to Dr. Ingram (why I didn't just do this from the start, I'll never know). What a breath of fresh air! Dr. Ingram walked in the room, took a look at my pup and diagnosed the issue immediately. He showed me a diagram of what was happening in the mouth, suggested an affordable antibiotic, gave me a timeline for measuring the medicine's performance, and told me to call him in two weeks to let him know how things were going. Unfortunately, my dog's teeth do need to be pulled eventually. But instead of trying to sell me on an extraction procedure or - worse yet - a $3,000 per tooth root canal... we are taking care of it one step at a time. Thanks Dr. Ingram!
