My experience with Richmond American has not been good so far. Gina Espinoza-Hall, my sales representative, did not disclose that the lot she sold me is smaller than the model - which was indiscernible on the plot plan. As she later said, "I represent the interest of the seller." This has been very upsetting, especially now that the block wall is up and I can see how close the back of the house is to it. Gina didn't even have the decency to tell me my yard would never look like the model when I told her to include the landscaping package because I wanted it to look just like the model. Also, the design consultant I was assigned seemed to be new and was not very helpful. I've felt like those I've worked with are only self serving - I am just a paycheck. My house is not due to be completed for 4 more months. The deception and ambivalence I've experienced have made me physically sick - I put all my savings down on this house. I was told I can cancel but won't get my money back. *** UPDATE *** I later found out that the yard must be graded to avoid flooding making the usable space even smaller. Then at closing the last form I was given to sign said that the house is built on "unstable soil" and to talk to Richmond American about how they mitigated this. Do not let your sales agent paraphrase online documents that are signed with a signature pad - request hard copies and read everything before signing.
