This review is for a standard cut and all over colour I came to this salon after reading all the five star reviews. I got a very basic hair cut, and all over dark colour to even out my caramel highlights. Both came out just OK, not horrific but nothing to rave about either. Because I had long hair (~ 5 inches below my shoulders), I was charged around $130 after taxes but before tip, and the advertised price is $75 and up for a cut and colour. I didn't have a bad experience, but given the number of salons in downtown Toronto in this price range, I would try another salon before returning to this one. The pros: - the assistants/colourists were really gentle and efficient (i had two females working on colouring my hair at the same time) - no forced small talk, in fact, no small talk at all, which is fine by me - I liked the fact that it was a small salon (I believe they only have 3 chairs), and there wasn't too much hustle and bustle around me The no-so-good: - the price was a little bit higher than I expected - the colour faded after a few washes, I didn't notice any difference between this salon dye job and doing it myself using a box dye - the guy who cut my hair (don't remember his name) didn't listen to what I wanted. I asked for a trim and long layers, as I had before. Instead, he gave me a trim with very short layers. It's a safe haircut, but not what I wanted - my bangs were messed up. My bangs were cut wet. The stylist force-parted my wet hair into two sections, and cut the bangs on either section pretty short. Once my hair was dried, the bangs wouldn't fall the way the stylists divided my hair. Instead of face framing bangs that fell to the sides of my face (which I asked for), my bangs on one side came out too short, and wouldn't fall off to the side. So I had side bangs on one side of my part, and awkward mid-length bangs on the other side of my head - they didn't have a bathroom on site (but I believe there's one in the garage next door that you may use as a Chura customer)
