Although there's zero seating and the spot is tiny (designed to grab and go), this is probably my favourite Sam James location, since it's less likely to have the crazy lineups as the other two nearby. Located in the outskirts of the Financial District, I'd give this place 3.5 stars overall. First, location. If you blink, you might miss it. Located on Toronto Street, south of Adelaide Street East (just east of Yonge and Adelaide), this shop is located right beside Mercatto. It's very discreet - just look for Mercatto, and you'll find it. Second, the coffee. I find Sam James coffee A-OK - it's not my favourite, but it does the job. And since this shop doesn't typically have as large a lineup as other locations (or as other coffee shops in the area, in general), that's even better. Third, the service. This location has the best service, from my experience. Super quick, efficient, but so friendly and genuine without being over the top. Just right - and they get you out of there quick! Overall, not a bad location, and worth a stop if you're in the area. But remember, there are no chairs or tables, so you'll have to enjoy your coffee to-go, elsewhere.
