My sister came home with their Lava Cheese Tarts one day and I fell in love!!! It's now my second favourite food next to pizza. So soft. So delicate. So cheesy. But it has a hint if sweetness too! If you are a fan of japanese cheesecakes, you'll definitely be a fan of these. It's flaky edges were so good and complimented the cheese well. I loved it so much, I made me way over to Richmond Hill after a couple days to get them myself! It was a late Friday afternoon and they only had about 12-15 cheese tarts left. It was sold for $2 each. I initially put 4 on my pastry plate and went to cash, but then kept glancing over, watching people walk into the bakery and thought "I'll get two more." I walked back, grabbed 2 more, and went to cash. Then it happened again! I went back to grab 2 more. I could tell other customers were eyeing me and my love for these cheese tarts. But I had to get them because my sister came back a day later around 6pm and they were sold out. It was around 4:25pm when I went and they were almost gone... maybe there will be another person walking in like me, and maybe that person will preform a clean cheese tart sweep too.... I could not let that happen. That's why I got 8. At cash, the cashier started speaking to me in either mandarin or cantonese. I guess because of how I look. My total came up to a bit over $16. I guess it's only no taxes for EVERY 6 items. I hope they change it to state no taxes for anything above 6 items. I just found that a bit odd. I paid by debit, and there was a small surcharge, which I willingly incurred. They only accept cash or debit at this moment in time. They gave me a sturdy red paper box, and I asked for a bag, but they told me it would be 5 cents, so I let it go. The box kept my tarts safe while I bussed to a shopping mall, and on my run home. I only ended up eating 1 tart, and gave the other 7 away to different people so they could experience the cheese tart too. They thought it was pretty good; not a fanatic like me, but hey! I did my good deed for the day. I'll be a regular cheese tart sweeper here ;)
