Awful rude staff! My wife and a friend took their daughters to an event Sunday night at a store in the mall and stayed there because of the location and our trust in the Marriott brand. She works for the state and has always gotten the government rate, in fact 32 straight stays in Marriotts has she gotten this without any question. This time she did not have her employee ID at check in, only a business card, which they wouldn't accept. The check in person treated her like a criminal, asking if she had ever gotten that rate before. Only 32 times before! She finally, grudgingly relented and said she would "do her a favor and let her stay this time". My wife complained to the manager later, but only got a lame canned apology, not even a free cookie. I have to say how disappointed I am in Marriott. We pay more because we expect more. We've never had such a bad experience. Always courteous and helpful in our many previous stays, but our loyalty can be lost if this kind of thing happens to us again.
