It's probably the least ideal time to go right now, but I was intrigued. From the South Park area, it took me 30 minutes or so to get there.
The grounds are large and there are a lot of fountains. I enjoyed being outdoors and away from any city sounds. I prepared a picnic and after walking around, stopped to have lunch. You can pick anywhere on the grounds to eat! There are a lot of grassy areas and it was perfect to take a small nap and soak up the sun.
I can only imagine how the gardens look in the springtime. In addition, I'm sure many weddings are held there. If you like taking photos, definitely make this one of your stops.
I plan to return after Thanksgiving because they open during the evenings for holiday lights. It sounds fun to bundle up, listen to jazz, and sip a hot drink while walking around a lit garden!
