This was my first experience with having hair removed in the nether regions other than shaving. I have never left a review before, but I had an experience that was worth warning others.
Anita performed the service and I did tell her it was my first time. She explained nothing to me and jumped right in without warning. I was shocked, but kept my cool. She continued to have at it and I asked repeatedly for a couple seconds to "catch my breath". Anita ignored my requests and kept going. By this time I was sweating and in pain! It was complete in less than 10 minutes, but probably one of the worst 10 minutes of my life. As I stood in front of the front desk when it was over, Anita bragged about how she can usually get a brazilian done in 5 minutes. Holy moly! I was swollen for 3 days and had to pull my shorts out to sit down the first day.
Anyway, I got my courage up to try it a second time at the European Wax Center in the Promenade and it was a 180 degree experience from the one I had at Destiny. I had Erica and she was very comforting and took her time. It took about 30 minutes and their wax only sticks to the hair, not your skin! Now I know it supposed to be easier after the first time, but it was a HUGE difference. No swelling! I'll be going back.
