I am unable to rate Heinz Field as a concert venue, but I can rate it as a location to watch football from both the Steelers and the Pitt Panthers. I have mixed feelings about this stadium, mostly due to the fact that it is very "airy" and not well insulated so it is equally cold both in the seats and inside the stadium public areas. Oh, and the policy about only clear bags and no purses allowed at all is profoundly ridiculous (thanks NFL). I've never sat in the upper level seats so I really can't say if there is no bad seat in the house. I'd imagine I'd rather watch the Steelers in the comfort of my own home then pay a couple of hundred dollars for seats that I'd need binoculars to see the game. I've gone and sat in season ticket seats and those were great to be in the center of action! Most recently 5 of us went to see my alma matter Pitt beat Syracuse for a mere $80 (total) and sat 4 rows from the field. Pitt games are definitely a good deal if you're unable to score Steeler tickets. Beer selection is ok-happy they offer more craft options now. Food is decent as well-love Duke's Gyros- but they also have Quaker Steak, Primantis, and the usual "football food", nachos, hot dogs, pizza, etc. I took advantage of living so close to a nice football stadium when I lived in the 'Burgh and I always enjoy the opportunity to return for a game during a visit home.
