Hoo boy. This is not the most modern looking bodega. I needed some tamales and was in the area, Matt W told me how to navigate to the sketchy mercado...sketchiness confirmed!
In all honestly, nothing particular happened here: I ordered my tamales (they stock them from El Poblano), they were fine. But the store is just dingy and meh.
PS-if you're trying to find it, it's next to a laundromat and wedged behind a gas station. In case you are in need of emergency weekend tamales on the North Side.
