Dr. Whelan is one of the most compassionate dentists I have encountered. My son was very resistant to treatment and very scared but the whole experience was made as gentle as possible. Dr. Whelan kept a calm, soothing deep voice and patiently worked as quickly as he could. I honestly feel that most other dentists would have refused to treat my son, but Dr. Whelan showed the utmost professionalism and patience and I am really grateful. Even in the consultation, I truly feel I received full informed consent about the risks and benefits of everything as well as information about every single option for treatment. He told me what his recommendations were and why in a thorough manner. Quite honestly, this type of informed consent is pretty rare in most medical settings. I really cannot thank Dr. Whelan and the staff at Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry enough for making this the best experience it could be for my child, and allowing me to feel empowered to make decisions with honest and accurate information.
