You must visit this amazing castle! You must - really - do it! It is so beautiful and the story of its designer and builder, Sir Henry Pellatt, is at once amazing and sad. Sir Henry's story is one of passion and commitment - to his country and to his home. We were so glad that not only did we get to tour this beautiful castle while it was decorated so beautifully for Christmas, but we also were given some insights in to the man who built it, then lost it. As Sir Henry, the home too has a history that is fascinating as it went through various incarnations of grandeur, gaudiness, glamor, and neglect, but
fortunately for us all, it now is open to the public as the owners work (and quite successfully) at restoring it to its glory years. We are so glad we visited it - and if you go - you will be too!
