I contracted Adam's culinary coaching for myself and my mother - both of us had a fantastic experience. Adam is superbly friendly, funny, efficient, and damn near an encyclopedia of interesting dishes and ingredients. We bashfully asked to learn an Asian-fusion sort of meal with sweet and savory flavors; on that limited description, we felt the resulting menu (crab noodle salad; seaweed salad; juicy-gingery pork wontons with plum sauce) expanded on the concept in a pleasant and creative direction. This was 1 of 3 meals for that session. Others included a tasty spicy chili and several loaves of fresh-baked bread.
It *is* an instructive service, so you are invited and involved in the process as directly as you want to be. My advice - bring a notepad or ask about recordings, so you can hold onto tips about kitchen prep, sanitization, heat control, knife skills - ask him about honing & sharpening! - skillet care, soups & sauces, and other things we asked about that I can't think of right now.
Price was very reasonable for the yield, which fed us heartily for a week; but that probably depends on what you ask for. Adam can work with dietary restrictions - one of us has an acid aversion that was discussed and neatly managed. Great business for a dinner party or other weekend occasion.
