When we first built our house with Pulte in 2012, Gothic was recommended to us, and we used them. We paid for the boulder package, and they proceeded to put two rocks in our front yard, which was so pathetic that the Pulte specialist we purchased through actually called Gothic and said they needed to fix it. We also asked for no trees that had thorns, and they put two trees with thorns. Not really worth the hassle, so we moved on. On the whole, the rest of the front yard was fine and we have been happy. Why the 1 star review? Fast forward 5 years, and the front drip won't stop running. I could not find the box to see what the problem was, so we called Gothic to come out and help. They couldn't find their own box either, and after hours of digging, they finally found it. Whomever instaled the box did not put a cover on the box, so the mechanisms were destroyed by mud caked on it. I spoke with the manager at Gothic (who also oversaw the install and inspection of our house) and mentioned that we should not have to pay full price for such an egregious error. I was willing to split the cost with him, which is what I told him, but not full cost (which on his invoice was $161.15) He said he would talk to the owner. I never heard back, and finally called him. He said the owner said no because it was 5 years old, and mentioned that we complained about the boulder incident also (which, again, the Pulte representative agreed with and went to bat for us). I protested and sent pictures of the shoddy work. He said he would take the pictures to the owner. I never heard back from him. I tried calling and texting but got no response. Again, I wasn't looking for a full free service, and was willing to pay up to half, but their terrible service was made perfectly clear. In the end, I was able to figure it out through trial and error and replaced the broken part myself fr way less, and put in a new box with a cover. I never heard back from the manager, or the owner, and this type of customer service should not be rewarded with referrals or more business.
