NO LONGER THE SAME RESTAURANT. I can't begin to say how disappointed and, frankly, angry I am with the Rock Bottom Brewery in Homestead. We came to love the Rock Bottom chain in Chicago for their energetic and well-trained staff, high-quality craft beers, and excellent food. Not haute cuisine, of course, but some very tasty and inventive recipes across a solid range of American, Italian and Tex-Mex varieties -- consistently good, regardless of which franchise we happened to be eating at. So it was with real delight that we discovered a Rock Bottom in Pittsburgh when we moved here several years ago. Same quality staff, same quality beers, same quality food, and all in a perfect location at the Homestead Waterfront. We began frequenting this establishment on a regular basis, at least once a month. But that all changed in 2016, with the hiring of a new manager and the radical turnover of waitstaff - and I would assume kitchen staff. While they carry the same menu, this store is definitely NOT following the same recipes, not training their staff in the same way, and not maintaining the same quality of craft brewing. The wait staff are dull and bored, the food is dull and boring and is NOT prepared according to the recipes listed on the menu, while only the beer remains relatively passable. In short, this restaurant was taken over by someone with zero commitment to maintaining the same standards of quality food, training, and organization represented by the rest of the chain, and seems hellbent on reducing the store to the same level of mediocrity found throughout the Pittsburgh region. This restaurant was GREAT, but they are killing it. If you're at the Waterfront, don't waste your time going there. Longhorn Steakhouse and PF Changs are vastly superior options.
