I found Maria on the Yelp site and I am so, so happy I did (thanks to all the reviewers!). I've been in AZ two years and had yet to find a seamstress, and Maria is wonderful.
I have a floor length black gown for a black tie wedding in Newport, RI next month and being 5 feet tall (on a good day!), nothing ever fits properly in the dress department. I got lucky ordering it online but it needed inches off of the bottom and the top straps fitted.
I found Maria on here and called to make an appointment. She told me to come in during business hours and she would take care of me. So I made no official appointment. I had gotten a rough estimate of what alterations would be elsewhere, and the prices were up there.
I went in and met Maria, and felt comfortable right away. Very warm and welcoming. She measured quickly, but very precisely. I could tell this woman takes great pride in her work. The prices aren't "cheap", but they were nowhere near what I would've paid elsewhere, and her work is flawless. I got more than what I paid for. My dress fits like a glove-- better than my own
wedding dress or any bridesmaid dress I've ever had. I cannot recommend this shop enough and will be back within the week with pants, a suit, etc!
PS- I needed my dress a month out and I was worried about that timeframe! I saw she had many things in there to do, and when she asked when I needed it, I told her to take a few weeks no rush. She had it done within days, and it probably would've been sooner had I asked. She only takes cash, so that's something to remember when you go (you should!), and obviously, I'd give this business ten stars if I could.
