The location is really great since you are in the old part of Montreal and the old port. It's close by a metro station and not that far from the 747 airport bus as well as the bus station. The only downside is that it's a touristy area and prices tend to be on the high side. I felt safe as far as security, there is always someone on the desk and by midnight or a bit afterwards the door to come in the hostel closes but a pin is given. The washrooms are cleaned daily. The staff are really nice.
They have a basic kitchen and breakfast is provided from 7am-11pm, it's very basic but it's free so that's good. Since it's a new hostel, the washrooms and rooms are very clean. The common room is kind of small but it did the job.
Definitely a good place to spend a couple of nights in Montreal.
