First time booking a deal through Hotwire and I got the Hard Rock Hotel. It's advertised as 4 star east of the strip area hotel. And the reviews were overall pretty good. I book for a Wednesday - Friday stay before Memorial Day weekend and got a room for about $31/night, plus taxes and resort fee ($28/night) the whole stay ended up being about $132. Check-in was quick, however even though we had 3 people, Hotwire booked us a room with only a King size bed. Unless you want to get really comfy with your travel partners, I'd suggest booking with 4 guests if you want 2 beds. The staff was nice enough to give us two queens anyways and gave us flexibility on what floor and what view we wanted. However, in our eagerness to get these "upgrades" we unfortunately got a smoking room on the 8th floor. And man....never again. The room smelled and felt dirty. So we switched to a non-smoking room on the 4th floor, w/o a great view but I was happy with the room. *Beds are sooooo comfy! Seriously, you could totally sink into the bed and hide there. *French doors in each room that open out. You can definitely keep them open for some fresh air, but beware of moths! *Water pressure in the shower was amazing! I felt like I could take a quicker shower. *Shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap smelled great and we got a generous amount *Overall the room was pretty clean! The only minor thing was that I wished there were more towels and toilet paper. I was a little hesitant at first about getting a hotel off the strip, but in the end I'm glad I did. The Hard Rock is situated at a really convenient place so that you wouldn't have to battle the traffic on the strip to get back to your hotel room. You definitely need a car to get to the strip, as the free shuttle only runs from 10am - 5pm. But what I did like about the Hardrock was that there was already a few restaurants on-site, a pool, a club and a relatively good sized casino. So if you wanted to, you would never have to leave. Which is good for some. Also, they give you free food and beverage credit when you check-in, so all in all, not a bad deal! I'd come back.
