I can't believe it took 3 years for me to catch a concert here again, a place my juvenile delinquent father used to sneak into to catch flicks for free. So, in 2013 I've witnessed the majesty of In This Moment, Exodus, Holy Grail, and Orange Goblin in this venerable, historic venue. In December, I have a meeting planned with Savatage/Doctor Butcher/TSO alumnus Jon Oliva. This has certainly been the year of metal's return to The Rex. It still looks unfinished inside and definitely could use some more remodeling, but when the lights go out, and the axes begin to rev, ya don't notice a thing. Hey, if nothing else, it's another place for bands to play in, and a city can never have too many of those.
