I had a pretty poor experience with Dollar, one that warrants paying a couple extra bucks to Enterprise when I need rental cars going forward.
After a long flight, I'm happy to see there was no line at Dollar (which I had an online reservation with) when I walk up. As I get to the counter, the miserable looking dude working there just says "License and credit card." ... no 'Hello' or 'How are you?' or even a smile... just "License and credit card." It was like I was getting pulled over or something. Whatever. Ok. Fine.
So I talk to this middle aged robot for a few minutes to try to just get my car and go because I'm tired. He asks the standard "Do you want to prepay or fill up later?" "Do you want to upgrade?" "Do you want insurance?" with little to no effort of even reading off the script.
When I got the print out, I knew it was more than what I had agreed to online, but too tired and annoyed to dig through my email, I just took it and left.
At the end of the day, I decided it wasn't worth the few bucks to even bring it up to any of them when I brought the car back. I just now know where I'm not renting cars from.
