Great value for money.
This was my first experience with the Alt Hotel brand, which basically has a "no frills" concept. Stayed for 2 nights this past weekend.
SIZE: The room was huge compared to my expectations, easily 30% larger than the other 3-4 star hotels I've been to. Washroom was spacious as well with full bathtub.
BED: Super soft. Like, ridiculously soft. Also, you can get a room with 2 beds for the same price.
PRICE: There's a cap rate of $154/night, regardless of 1 or 2 beds.
LOCATION: Location is good if you want to be close to Old Montreal (2km walk), but it's not walking distance for Mont Royal/Plateau area. Note that as of Aug 2015, there's quite a bit of construction in the area.
PARKING: The underground parking was a bit inconvenient (had to drive around the entire building to find it, and there was a 1-way street) and fairly expensive at $23/night.
OTHER:
- I could be mistaken, but from what I could tell, there's no room service though you can buy bottled beverages/snacks from the lobby.
- The room key/card had to be fixed twice in our 2 day visit.
- They're flexible with checkout on Sunday, given availability. We were able to checkout at 5pm for no extra charge
