Release Date: May 28, 2015 Contact(s): Del Orme (702-515-5401) Las Vegas, NV - The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest Spring Mountains National Recreation Area (SMNRA) has opened several trails near the 2013 Carpenter 1 Fire area that had been closed since March 2014 for the protection of public health and safety and natural resources. Under the terms of a new closure order issued on May 22, 2015, South Loop Trail from the junction of Cathedral Rock Trail to the peak of Mt. Charleston and Griffith Peak Trail remain closed in the interest of public health and safety. Cathedral Rock Trail, Echo Trail, and Little Falls Trail are now open.
