I will never use this comapany - they employ dishonest business practices. I had a Water Heater die and called my Home Warranty company. They sent out Straight Line Plumbing 2 hours later - which seemed very professional and a quick response. They assessed the issue and said the water heater needed replacement and they would need to contact the warranty company for authorization. 2 hours later they were still outside when I got a call from the warranty company that the repairs would cost an additional $1,440 over my deductible!! For what, I asked, shocked?! Was told that the system would need modication, to be brought to code, additional piping, T&P valve etc. all of which were not covered by my warranty. I spoike to the technician, Joe, who told me that they had to do that work in order to install the unit correctly. That was nonsense, so I refused to authorize the work and the warranty company offered me a cash out option to have the work done myself for reimbursement when I sent in a paid invoice. I then contacted my own plumbing company who I have used for several years and they came out and replaced the water heater the next morning at a cost (parts & labor) BELOW the figure Straight Line Plumbing were demanding JUST FOR THE MODIFICATIONS! Scam artists - there were NO modifications needed, and the installation was fully up to code. BEWARE of these sort of dishonest practices. A smart truck, and fresh starched clean white shirts does not make this company one you should use in a situation such as this!
