I'm a long time road cyclist and spin instructor with most of my trips on dirt on fire roads, so fairly new to single track but trying to improve my technical skills over the past year. Anyway, I've been wanting to ride near Red Rocks and this was the best way to do it. Amy was easy to work with over email and then Chris set up our bikes and we got Byron as our guide. This guy seriously gets 5 stars all on his own. He picked us up in a timely manner (letting us start at 6 am instead of the usual 8:30 am so we could beat the heat), texting back and forth responding to questions about details, and then picked out a perfect route that could accommodate both my non-MTB-riding and newly more sedentary hubby and me. He would send me ahead for side routes with climbs and descents and then ride along at hubby's pace. He carried water and snacks, took a ton of pics, and shared his Strava ride info. He kept us entertained for about 18 miles for me and 12 for hubby. The routes were not too technical but challenging enough, and I totally recommend McGhies. The only suggestion I would make is that, if you have a rental car, make your way up to Blue Diamond on your own. They do provide transportation to and from your hotel, but it probably would've been easier had we driven ourselves. Thanks Byron, Amy, and Chris!
