Here's the dish: Gilbert and crew are awesome and fast. Getting an oil change here is like getting a sandwich at Jimmy John's. One minute you place your order the next minute it is done. I came to Shell Rapid Lube when I desperately needed a new oil change place close to home and looked to Yelp for good reviews. These guys truly know their stuff and their prices are comparable. I used to go a place called Superstition Springs car wash etc on Gilbert and the 60. They were okay but the free car wash was why I went. Then they changed owners a couple times and now its a $3 car wash. Then I went to a place I will not name that did a good job on my brakes on my previous car. The last time I went to this unnamed place they told me all my fluids were drained. Wtf? How can that be? There's been no puddles under my car and I keep it parked in the same spot at work and home. That's when I checked with Yelp and started frequenting Shell Rapid lube. Just yesterday I went for a fuel injector service (my baby is almost 10 years old). Gilbert asked if I wanted an oil change too as its due in 400 miles, I decided to go for it. When all was said and done 40 minutes later Gilbert let me know I might want to get a new battery sooner than later (I had been suspecting as much) and he said Wall Mart has good prices. I took Gilbert's suggestion and got a new battery at Wall Mart today for about $100 with a 5 year warranty. Thank you Gilbert for being an honest mechanic and one of the good guys. They really do exist!
