After being a loyal member of One Nevada (back then known as Nevada Federal Credit Union) for more than five years, I am finally going to cancel my account.
This all has to do with the paranoid behavior that the institution has been imposing, regarding card-cancellations and freezes since the Target Hack fiasco last Black Friday.
As of this moment, my debit card has been frozen FOUR TIMES in the past few months. From something as little as using a vending machine at school, paying my monthly rental fees for my storage unit, to withdrawing a few hundred dollars to go to California for only TWICE a year.
One Nevada actually cancelled my old card, rendered it invalid, and then sent me a NEW one in the mail without my consent!
In another incident I almost couldnt drive home one day from school because I needed gas money and had no cash and the Arco told me my card was rejected when I still had thousands in my account.
I would say that the string of bad customer service, frustrating security methods and lack of accountability (when it comes to losses like venue tickets) began as soon as they changed their name to One Nevada from Nevada Federal about two years ago.
Edit: Checked my receipt. It says that the venue ticket is valued at $392.23, including service fees and the face value of the ticket that was available for purchase on the date of December 9th, 2013.
Edit: After being informed that my tickets were apparently mailed and delivered four days ago in the morning, I have throughly searched my home, mailbox, and all of our personal vehicles. I will visit the USPS Office tomorrow, and if that search is fruitless, I will report my EDC Ticket as stolen.
